Ohhhh thank you for all of this! Insightful! I should chat with Duane Hamacher in Aus. who has really got to know how Indigenous Australians have used the sky for so long. Would love to find out their perspective on all of this, given a completely different hemisphere.

Yes—and I’d also add that Hawaiian navigators represent another very old, fundamentally S hemisphere astronomical tradition (despite being—barely—located in the N hemisphere) since they were navigating from Tahiti & other locations in the S Pacific
