I don’t know if it’s so much a double standard but a “so what” because nothing can be done with these documents. They’re a dead end. If there were new allegations or a new civil suit or criminal charges, they would be all over it.

That “if we unite” is a big if. The right unites, the left dissents. There are a lot of people who won’t vote for Biden solely because of Gaza, despite the most likely alternative being FAR worse. Or he IS too old, or straight, or cis, or white for them. This election is not the place for idealism.

One of the chronograph faces is also non -linear. The tachymeter face is for tracking speed in units per hour, based on how much of a minute elapsed between start and finish.

That’s not the chronograph face, it’s the world time face. It will duplicate hours in the ring if there are too many cities in that time zone to fit under one. A bizzare design choice, but that is what they did.

Oh I certainly don’t. He’s already talking about camps for “illegals” and putting all kinds of people in that category in a sunning parallel of 1930s Germany. My worry is what support vs. resistance to those plans will be. Populations of entire cities fighting. So let’s not vote that in?

Yeah, well, Hitler thought he was too. The fact that the head of Heritage is openly running his mouth about how extreme and violent they plan to be is not a great sign if they get power, but also not a great sign as to how clever they are. You don’t say that part out loud and not expect a backlash.

The flaw in that logic is most dem voters are too soft hearted. Not the young leftist vocal ones on the internet. The rest of them. If Biden used the same dirty politics Trump and his cohorts use, or the political violence he is threatening to use, he would be abandoned by the dem base.

I am fully convinced another Trump/Project 2025 administration will eat itself, but it would be as bad if not worse than if it didn’t. Just like the Axis powers would have inevitably imploded if we didn’t defeat them in WWII, albeit at the cost of far more civilian lives.

The best case scenario is that P25 replaces the government with so many incompetents that it collapses. Worst case is a functioning fascist government. Either one could lead to civil war or a full revolution. Both of those will indeed be bloody, so the Heritage Foundation got that part right.

Even more insidious that that is that he’s just a puppet to P25. He’ll think he’s in charge, but he’s not, and once he’s gone one way or another all the P25 cronies will still be there. So we can’t let them get there in the first place.

He’s incompetent, and dangerous, and if Trump had unchecked power it’s almost guaranteed at least one Secret Service agent would become a martyr to stop him. P2025 is meant to replace everyone who would oppose the people pulling his strings. Not Trump himself. Keeping him in the dark is part of it.

Nice try, but that was a case of “wrong place, wrong time” and it wasn’t on US soil. That was an unfortunate case of friendly fire, and the target was not a US citizen. The Wikipedia article you linked even makes that clear.

FYI there is a picture of a sign with the home addresses of the conservative SCOTUS justices on it. Do not post or repost it. You’ll get bonked. Bluesky considers it doxxing. I have been liking it whenever I see it, and every one of them has been removed. Quote reposts show it as “deleted”

There is a LOT to read about that ultimately dropped lawsuit. Plenty of threats against the plaintiff, as you might expect, but also a ton of inconsistencies to the point even Vox (a decidedly liberal publication) wonders how real any of it was.

There is no reason to give Trump or any other Republican candidate the benefit of the doubt. SCOTUS may have been evaluating the consequences of giving POTUS either absolute or no immunity, and deciding (in *true* conservative, not neocon fashion) to effectively kick it back to lower courts.
