Yes. Fine. If they would run on policies popular with Democrat voters and say "we will get this done if you elect us" and then actually do it, I would have few complaints. What are they running on this time? "Keep Trump out, but we are helpless about the judiciary? Sorry. Our hands are tied!"

Because they can’t even do the basics of exercising power. Republicans would not be hesitating to call Thomas to account if he was accepting Democrat money, regardless of how much power they had to be rid of him. Shrugging is spitting in our collective faces. It says nothing matters.

sure. I don't think it's going to get easier for him because the steps he has lost aren't going to come back. the conversation isn't going to go away, and the Democrats have to be cognisant of that debate in September. by then it will be too late.

I do think he would stand aside if they collectively pressed him to. Right now he's just angry and lashing out at the emerging notion of it, but if he was to be presented with the hard reality of it, I think he'd go.
