I wanted to know if the president can, as an official act, raise whomsoever he doth please from the civilian ranks into something like a secret soldier police army or something but yeah, he can, yeah. Yeah he can He can! This one won't, but another sure could! There's really nothing he couldn't!

There is a county executive on Long Island named Bruce Blakeman trying to do the same thing for himself. Effectively deputize an armed militia of former LEOs/security guards/military to serve as “supplemental protection” during emergency situations that he himself may declare unilaterally.
