How many differing role models could a child encounter in real life though? Most kids are pretty sheltered except online, and their real-life communities are likely to be relatively homogenous due to socio-economic realities. Parents often control your exposure to real people.

The vast majority of the people who abuse children are people they know in their real life communities. Priests, trusted leaders, families.
