Isnāt it interpreted as either Sevier or Laramide thickening, depending on where you are? So northern NV would be Sevier, but southern AZ would be Laramide? Sevier thrusts are exhumed in NW NV (see Art Snokeās Ruby MMC stuff), and Jay Chapmanās NA Anatectic Belt work focuses on Laramide processesā¦

When I was TAing a structural geology class in grad school, the senior & very southern professor explained in detail to the class how he had named Chunky Gal Mountain in western North Carolina after a āvoluptuous young woman [he] once knew.ā One of them turned an impressive shade of beet red.

Sure, gem quality stibnite is stunning, but letās be honest, itās mostly just toxic. Quartz on the other hand, in addition to abundant scientific utility and geologic significance (it defines strength of the upper-middle crust!), is beautiful even at its least prismatic.

Oh, also, if youāre worried about spreading COVID these days and your rapid test is negative, go get a PCR. Exposure was reported to me on Thurs night, rapid test was ā, congested and bleh Fri morning, another rapid test was ā. Got a PCR Fri afternoon due to extent of exposure, PCR was ā.

1) Paxlovid works
2) It can apparently leave a terrible taste in your mouth as long as youāre taking it.
3) A Dyson V8 works wonders to clean the dirt off the bottom of your tent & ground cloth when you break camp in the rain AND get home in the rain AND catch COVID in the field.
