In my early days (2008-ish) it was easy to naively think of "furry" as this all encompassing thing, everyone knew everyone else, all on the same page. But that was never true, and the fandom growing hasn't ruined it. There's just more social circles, and you have to find yours.

I've had to accept that there are some social circles I will simply never be a part of, and that's okay. As cool or desirable as those people may seem, I don't belong. But hey my circle has a lot of intellectual discussion, cuddles, sex, and nerdy tech stuff, so I'm content. :p

So yeah I don't fit in with most of the party goers at the waterfront, or the tiktok kids who have a totally different view from me on what a fursona even is... but furries still saved my life, and this culture is still filled with good & well meaning people. I have a place.

AC was overall a good experience for me this year. I think I learned a lot about managing: my burnout, my social expectations, my sense of belonging, and how to maintain the aspects I love. I cried after a rough 2023 thinking it might be my last con ever, I'm glad it wasn't.

(nerdy colorscience rambles...) I'm impressed with the ACES 2.0 DRT betas so far, much more usable than 1.x was imo, though still not my favorite looking picture formation for SDR at least. That's still a split between Resolve's stock DRT, and the 2499 DRT.

yeah I wish more focus was put into the entire teams of people behind each candidate, rather than the candidate themselves. Focus on policy not a popularity contest, etc.
