I hate to detract from the seriousness of the situation, but are we really still going with “skeet”? Like, can’t we just say “post”?

Do whatever you like. But people from since before the platform widely opened up started calling posts "skeets", as a joke, and then it at least halfway took off. So, yes, some people still regularly use it. But you can do what you want.
