Luckily the specification for IP over Avian Carriers can be scaled for various species, although the QoS version notes that "Ostriches have much greater bulk transfer capability but provide slower delivery, and require the use of bridges between domains." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_over...

crows are very territorial and only move outside their 4 block or so radius in specific circumstances as far as I can tell. So you might get a bit more range but not a lot
