The reason for this: they know going after Biden might yield a scalp. They know Trump is impervious to their attacks because his people don't read/believe them.

My take: Some journalists want to create the news; they want to "be" the news. They want people talking about them 50 years later, like they're Woodward and Bernstein. However, they want the recognition without putting in the work--and they want access to Trump, if he wins.
