Working on a crank idea that machines need to feel more like machines. When you run a car with an iPad you don't appreciate that actually it's more than a ton of metal that can kill somebody if you aren't careful.

This is true, though the pre-2022 setup was even worse. They conceded a deep blue seat to the D's because the lines would have had to become so absurd as to accidentally put more seats in play.

When I was a kid years before MAGA and was watching as much stand up on TV as I could I once saw a Black comedian who said "White guys don't like to be told what to do by anyone except older white guys" and I don't think I've ever heard a more concise summation of the movement.

I tested negative the whole time I actually felt bad which was only a day or so, but then tested positive for multiple days after I had turned the corner (lots of snot blowing, but fine otherwise)

My view is I don't want elected officials profiteering off their involvement in politics and government but I also think the influencer/pundit barnacles on the side of our politics profiteering off it in the private sector is even worse and even more corrosive.

I think this is half-true. They do think about that--but only from the perspective of the left getting into power. Recently there was an article with an unnamed power player who claimed with a straight face that the threat of socialism under Biden was greater than the threat of fascism under Trump.
