Goede bedenkingen van Danny bij dit wat aparte plan van de gemeente Amsterdam. Vraag mij verder af wie er verantwoordelijk is als er een ongeluk plaatsvindt doordat fiets/fatbike op afstand opeens hard wordt afgeremd. Als gemeente moet je dat toch niet op je geweten willen hebben zou ik denken.

Gemeente Amsterdam wil fietsen op afstand gaan afremmen. Een slecht doordacht, onethisch plan dat niet gaat werken en een poging om de verantwoordelijkheid voor problemen door de overheid veroorzaakt af te schuiven op burgers.

Het luchtalarm afschaffen dat we na de Tweede Wereldoorlog hebben opgebouwd om €0,75 per inwoner te besparen, is een kortzichtige vorm van zuinigheid die ons onnodig in gevaar brengt.

Nu kon ik dat eenvoudig (nouja eenvoudig…moest een half uur zoeken) oplossen met een mail gericht aan een menselijke medewerker. Maar veel processen waar we robots mensen laten behandelen worden er helemaal niet beter op. Je krijgt een mechanische, ontmenselijkte samenleving.

Ik denk dat we onvoldoende stil staan bij de consequenties van dit soort plannen. Wel eens een “computer says no” situatie meegemaakt? Ik vorige week nog: Europese Commissie reageert niet tijdig op mijn inzageverzoeken. Er is dan een knop “Request a review”…die niet werkte

In my opinion, this violates not only the GDPR (no free choice), but also consumer law: the service must comply with the agreement, and by blocking access overnight, the service no longer complies with the agreement.

As a result, I am now unannouncedly locked out of my Facebook account until I make a 'choice' (pay for privacy or now agree to targeted ads, whereas before I did not see any targeted ads).

The second lie consists of Facebook pretending that a law has changed ("Laws are changing") so that people now have to choose to pay or give permission to use personal data. However, no law has changed: this was always the law.

Dishonest 'choice' by Facebook to force users to choose between free use (with a privacy invasion) or pay for privacy. Why untruthful? First, Facebook says that that I am now using Facebook for free with 'personalized' ads, but that is not true.

I wonder if Meta's revenue per user will drop when Facebook and Instagram soon disable personalised ads in Europe, or not. The stock market did not react negatively to the news, with the share price up +0.62% since the market opened.
