Oh, sometimes it's not just laziness. Some people just don't want to listen. This artist's final word was: "Ok, if it's fallen out of use in that context and the OED say nincompoop, I'm happy to stand by it as just the daft fun I intended" And they continued to use the word repeatedly

You need less focus the more you do it. Eventually, you reach a point where the words you once used no longer feel right.
