Love kids, dogs, and data. I'm not crazy about MAGA or Apartheid. I'm not sure what I would do if my dog joined MAGA.
We needed to go along with UN censure and stop providing weapons five months ago. What Biden did here is unforgivable and yet I am forced to vote for him.

I have seen figures ranging from 75% to 90% of Israelis supporting this absolute massacre in Gaza. If you see something which shows that they are against thid genocide I would really appreciate you sharing it.

I actually don't understand this. I hate Netanyahu but don't understand what possible influence we can have over Israeli elections, particularly since the Israeli people wholeheartedly support this genocide.

And when the investigation is complete, and the attack is determined to be intentional, Biden will be forced to scold Netanyahu.

That army ants triage wounded comrades, produce a complex chemical compound, and use that compound with a 90% effectiveness rate blows my mind.
Ants’ ability to heal comrades may hold lessons for human infections

Perhaps our country should be less concerned with queers, abortions, immigrants, and gun rights, and way way more concerned with the ballooning population of sociopaths.

One other thing... The evangelicals from the south had a great migration to the Midwest and Northwest which is why so many of those States are conservative now. To be clear, these people were Democrats founded in racism and oppression, and they still are.

It may be true that Mississippi is more Republican now than it was in 2012, but that trend began in the 1980s with the southern strategy. In essence the southern Democrats, who were extremely right wing switched over to the Republican party.

Your plan is very reasonable and fair. Sometimes it can work in places like Minnesota or Ohio which are very purple. But in Mississippi they are voting for the government they want.

States that wish to have religiously based authoritarian governments should be able to establish an independent country. If people live in these particular states and want to leave, they should receive assistance to do so.

I would agree with that as an issue if we did anything at all to protect children now. Parents say they are home schooling their children without the government providing any oversight at all. Children are treated as the property of their parents.

There are a great number of states that have a liberal democracy and there are a lot of states with plenty of open space. I also assume that many people who live in liberal states would jump on the chance to leave.

It would be hard but it also would be possible. What doesn't seem possible are the people of Alabama establishing a liberal democracy.

They could stay if that's the government they want and they can move if they don't. And yes, I support assisting people who want to relocate. What I don't support is the constant debates about individual rights.

Abdicating responsibility for your theocratic government is disingenuous at best. What I don't see are protests and challenges and an actual attempt to control your government. I see it in Ohio and Wisconsin, but in the south it's just yelling at people who think you go along with evil.

Even worse, it has left us with a single, very mediocre government to vote for. We are forced to vote for people who are controlled by corporations, support genocidal wars, and do very very little about income inequality, just because they're not fascist.

Not at all. I actually believe in open borders. But where we are now, nothing is being resolved. For god sakes., we are still discussing if evolution should be taught in school. How the hell can we ever get around to discussing climate change.

I'm sorry that you are in such a difficult position and perhaps you can move after your younger child finishes High School. But at some level, you accept what the government is doing. You are willing to give them this much power. Not you in particular but your state.

I'm not sure your position makes a lot of sense. If there were no state of Alabama then there wouldn't be a reason to have the same discussions about abortion and climate change and gay rights and separation of church and state over and over again. We could move forward with actual positive changes.

Instead of us moving forward as a country, with more individual rights and equal opportunities, we just keep running around in the same circles, again and again and again.

I think the greatest mistake the US made was readmitting these states back into the union. Doing so without some pretty high bars to jump over has resulted in them taking over this country yet again.
