I guess I just mean alerts and potentially providing tests. I avoid indoor events with lots of people during these waves so I like having reliable information at hand

Tamiflu and similar drugs for after you've gotten sick; before they came out there was just homeopathics :-) But the "mandatory paid sick time off" that other people have posted is much more effective.

I think mandatory PTO policies for all jobs and worker protections against retaliation would make a huge difference. Obviously other gatherings also spread COVID and flu, but I think we'd see some pretty stark drops in both if that were the case.
