He spent a lot of time trying to court the votes of Grassley and Graham instead of planning for all the votes they could have conducted with 60 votes the instant Al Franken was sworn in. Yes, Kennedy was sick but they could have brought him in for a vote-a-rama, or else he could have resigned.

That's mostly small dollar donors. The big money people are some of the loudest voices saying Biden should drop out, saying they're going to take their money to downballot races because they think he can't win.

Biden literally has no power to overturn the court though. The only measures he could participate in would be adding more justices or signing a new law, both of which would require there to be enough Democrats in Congress and currently Republicans run the House.

Or else they came here when the exit conditions on *the other side of the border* were much more favorable. A big reason there are so many undocumented crossings now is just how overwhelmed and/or corrupt many of the agencies meant to "help" people leave those countries have become.

Of course it's some communities and not others but the point is they are *moving from Biden to Trump* since 2020 wherever they are. That's just an example of the "moderate" voters who have been convinced that Biden is "too liberal" and thus he's losing their support.

There is polling, particularly in some Hispanic areas, that shows a fairly big surge toward Trump because there are a lot of people who are older immigrants who feel they "did it the right way" and think Biden is letting people skip the line to come here, for instance. Not saying I agree w/this btw.

There are people making the opposite argument, that Biden taking on liberal causes like student loan debt relief and being less evil at the border have cost him votes from the middle while not actually winning over the youth vote.

I'm not going to demand Biden resign, but if he is not going to be the candidate, the scenario I outlined is the *only hope* of someone else winning. Bringing in Whitman or Newsome would grab headlines but national voters have *zero buy-in* with either of them, and not enough time to create it.

Yes, I get Kamala's poll numbers are not great but *the second she becomes POTUS*, throw all the old data out the window and start with a fresh sheet. She doesn't have Biden's Gaza weight on her, she would suddenly be in front of Americans *all the time*, and I think she would win ppl over.

I think the only *actually viable* play would be for Biden to *resign*, let Kamala serve 4 months as POTUS and run as the incumbent but also *the younger different voice*. I don't see any other way Dems would stay united enough and get enough independent voters.

You've made one major omission in this editorial. The only *truly viable* path for a Democratic victory w/out Biden would be for him to *resign immediately* and allow Kamala Harris to serve as the incumbent and take the top ballot spot. He doesn't need to just drop out, he needs to leave the stage.

I had a 2012 MacBook Pro that I managed to limp along until 2021 because it had the oldest version of OS X that would support my paid-for versions of Adobe Suite apps. In the 3-1/2 years since then I have paid Adobe more to rent the apps than I had previously paid to buy them...

Luck is real but also there's a huge factor of educating yourself to be prepared to recognize luck when it happens. A lot of people (myself included) have missed "lucky breaks" because they didn't see that's what it was until after it was too late.

I think this is just like how they approach obvious scam emails. It's intentionally incredible so that they immediately filter out most people, and are left with only the most gullible paying attention. That way they know they will be easy to keep scamming.
