As people debate the affordability of Universal Basic Income, they seldom question the cost of not implementing it. The ripple effects of chronic widespread financial insecurity touch every aspect of our society and democracy. Let's crunch the numbers on UBI vs. the status quo.

Chief Justice Roberts and 5 associate justices put their rampant partisanship on display in Trump v. US decision. The majority opinion turns the Constitution’s text and structure inside out and upside down, flatly contradicting its letter and spirit.

Great conversation - now all in for Biden-endorsed Harris-Buttegieg ticket and fight to redo Dem primary process for 2028. I want a rank choice national model and open convention based on top finishers.

Just had fight with my husband about this. He thinks Harris unelectable. He also thinks Buttigieg is unelectable. I think he's wrong and he's afraid. I think this ticket would lock in the base that is voting for Biden no matter what (which I am) but also excite the shaky middle.

Biden needs to step aside and endorse Harris. I think a Harris-Buttegieg ticket would offer benefits of incumbent with benefits of doing something amazing and novel. Then convention becomes a celebration of future and Trump will lose so big.

SCOTUS throws away 40 years of precedent that allowed federal agencies (and the experts who work for them) to interpret laws. The court also made it easier to criminalize homelessness and harder to charge hundreds of January 6th insurrectionists.
