Yeah, I can't imagine any constituency being pissed off if a handful of party hacks select a candidate through an arbitrary rushed process. No one would ever claim it was rigged and storm off in a huff. Everyone will immediately rally around Democratic Candidate Pete Buttigieg with no hard feelings.
