Midway through the second quarter, Joel Embiid looked like his emotions were getting the best of him. His foul on Mitchell Robinson very well could have gotten him ejected.

Then he dropped 40 points over the next 2.5 quarters and saved the Sixers' season.

Final: Sixers win 125-114, and trail the Knicks 2 games to 1 in the series. Game 4 will be Sunday afternoon in Philly. Joel Embiid had his first career 50-point game in the playoffs. Tyrese Maxey added 25/7 and the Sixers shot 15-31 from 3.

More we get removed from the heartbreak, more my takeaway is of excitement that Tyrese Maxey has become THAT F---ING GUY this quickly.

I just hope that Embiid has enough meniscus left in his knee that they can build a championship caliber supporting cast around them.

Going back and re-watching the game, I think Sixers' two stars, especially Maxey, consistently got better looks than Knicks did in half-court.

If they can clean up their rebounding issues, and if Embiid can stay on the court (big ifs, i know), the Sixers have a chance.

Nick Nurse and Kelly Oubre Jr have both been fined $50k by the NBA for their conduct after Wednesday's game against the Clippers. Nurse was fined for "aggressively pursuing and verbally abusing" game officials, and Oubre Jr for "verbally abusing and directing an obscene gesture towards."

The 76ers announced Embiid had a procedure to address the meniscus in his left knee. He will be re-evaluated in approx four weeks.

Given that timeline, only logical conclusion is he had a meniscectomy to remove the damaged portion of meniscus.

Joel Embiid is not listed on the afternoon injury report, indicating he is expected to play. Bamba, Covington, Melton and Springer remain out for the Sixers. House is questionable with a lumbar spine contusion. For the Nuggets, Jokic, KCP, Gordon, Murray and Porter Jr are all listed as probable.
