Oh and no, I don't hate BG3, I think BG3 and Pathfinder Kingmaker / Wrath of the Righteous are some of my favorite CRPGs and games ever made xD ALSO POPPER NEEDS A TREATO.

I think my biggest complaint about BG3 still is that all characters are written to be way too "unique" and important to feel relatable to me. I don't even remember the stories of the companions anymore, except Karlach and Lae'zel ^^'

I definitely prefer Valve's We Do Nay Care approach these days, because it allowed NSFW games to bloom on Steam, and that's basically one of the only places where you *can* xD

Yeah, when Greenlight still were there, I did watch upcoming/new releases on Steam much more, but Greenlight was also *horrible* popularity wrestling match which let through a lot of gunk, and blocked a lot of more artistic games ever seeing the light ^^

That's the crux of my issue with deep discounts too; It is the discard bin of physical stores. The abandoned things people barely care for. At least with digital goods those will probably still stay in store for a few years after which the studio closes down and the game gets delisted ^^

In general I hate the "discard culture" of games too, in which games are basically considered too old to care for in just a year since release, some AAA just months after. The ideal point of digital market was that it didn't matter if something was a bit older, it still had value, but here we are xD

I mean, yes and no. Yes the box of shame xD But yeah it's likely the net pos/neg is just the same, more people buy it, but revenue likely remains almost the same. General sales and visibility are much lower these days, the top 1% make more money while the 99% of the rest make much less nowadays ^^

Oh yeah, of course the Dev gets to say, but if player base expects 90% discounts from a game, they're not going to buy your 25-50% discounted game 1 year from release, so you're going to just lose even more sales when it matters the most ^^
