Like I said, that's the point. It's not to convert the masses per se, but to show the ones they send out (and put them up as an example) "See? The outside is cold and cruel, only WE love and understand you." Thus furthering the brainwashing, and reinforcing the narrative. It's a cult.

Catholicism is the bigger and stronger part of the cult if you ask me. This whole idea of visiting relics and parading their dead saints via bone fragments etc. Is just cringeworthy and creepy. I forget the location, but one of these places keeps the corpse of the saint on display.
