I would have 100% agreed with you before the debate. Watching the debate….well, if you’ve lost a loved one to dementia, it felt uncomfortably familiar - like the decline has started. Hopefully this is just typical age related decline. A full neuropsych eval would tell the story.

There are several near me I see in the wild. Last week, there was one in the Home Depot lot. I kid you not, we had maybe twenty people gather, laugh, and wonder if we would get a glimpse of the dumbass who bought the thing.

It brings out a sense of community. There’s one in the wild in my town. Whenever I see it in a parking lot, strangers come together to point, snicker, and wonder aloud “who’s the dumbass that brought that?”

When your kid is diagnosed as autistic, a whole range of emotions and thoughts flood over you. Emotions are valid. “I want my buddy to put a microchip in my kids brain” is crazy. I hope the dad is more accepting of his child.
