Every summer, I take the slippery, forgotten stairway to the bottom of the falls. There is an old tradition, if you get change in the market. Throw a coin over your shoulder, make a wish for good luck. At the bottom they glitter. Cast in sun, molten gold. Countless wishes.

Inspired by the song "May Queen" by Green Lung.

I originally wanted to make this piece into an embroidery pattern (maybe I still will?), but the idea to make it a graphite and gold leaf piece took over.

I hope to do more work like this in the future!
