Out speaking to Surrey residents with
Paul Kennedy the #LibDems candidate for the Surrey Police & Crime Commissioner election on 2nd May &
@willforster.bsky.social Woking's PPC.
It's clear from multiple conversations with residents that they are fed up with divisive Tory politics and want change.

Funding for GPs in #Surrey has been cut by over £9 million in real terms since 2019. People can’t see their GP when they need to and hospitals like #Woking are overwhelmed. The #LibDems want patients to be given a legal right to see their GP within seven days, or 24-hours if in urgent need.

Last week, the #LibDems running #Woking Council agreed to invest ÂŁ16.4 million in social housing. People deserve safe and decent housing, and for too long this was neglected by the previous council. Today, we begin to correct that mistake.

Despite inheriting an effectively bankrupt #Woking Council from the former Conservative administration, the #LibDems and I now running Woking agreed a balanced budget this week. Find out about how we are bringing the Council back from bankruptcy here: www.woking.gov.uk/news/council...

Visited the #Woking United Reformed Church to see how they're powering their building using electricity generated by the sun following the installation of 134 solar roof panels and 8 large storage batteries. Pleased to help them get funding for this, find out more here: urc.org.uk/suns-energy-...

#LibDem run #Woking Borough Council is to collaborate with local groups to save community assets. Council properties, such as community centres like Moorcroft and pavilions, will be run by community groups for the benefit of local residents. Find out more👇

The #LibDems and I are calling for an emergency ban on no-fault evictions over the Christmas period, as figures show 73 families in #Woking were put at risk of homelessness due to a Section 21 notice.

This week’s #Woking News and Mail runs with the announcement I have made on behalf of the #LibDems running the Borough Council that we are finalising plans to keep Pool in the Park open by increasing charges to use it.

Very annoyed that the Conservative MP for #Woking voted against a compensation scheme suggested by the #LibDems for people who get sick from sewage in seas and rivers in Parliament last night. Water companies’ profits should not come before people’s health!

1 in 4 women in #Surrey have experienced harassment or unwelcome attention in the last year. We need to #ChangeTheStory for women and girls to ensure they feel safe in #Woking and beyond. That’s why I’ve make the #WhiteRibbon promise - please do so to: whiteribbon.org.uk/promise

I don’t like ULEZ, especially without a proper scrappage scheme, but the Conservative decision to spend £140,000 of #Surrey County Council’s budget on lawyers trying to stop it wasn’t a good use of taxpayers’ money.
