Also? It's a chance to score some absolutely extraordinary one-of-a-kind Indigenous wearable [and other] art, in styles you won't see anywhere else. And yes, we still need sales urgently. An average of 2 per week for the rest of the year, just to break even.

So today's feature was this masterwork of a necklace, and old-style collar necklace in sterling silver, royal lapis lazuli, and Fox turquoise [plus the beads], called "Buffalo Sky": wingssilverwork.com/buffalo-sky-....

So let's do three cuffs that match it.

Tonight's inventory thread. [Sorry; I'm struggling tonight. We need sales desperately, but my illness is really weighing me down right now (pain, fatigue, all the million and one things going wrong/can go wrong), and I just don't have it in me right now. Won't be very sunny.]

The beads were all hand-selected specifically for this piece: giant high-grade old orbs of lapis in chrysocolla; ultra-high-grade royal lapis spheres, polished like glass; anchors of natural electric blue turquoise, so pure in color it must be Persian; pyrite and sterling silver accents.

At either end, lightly beveled squares of royal lapis in violet blue rest in scalloped bezels edged in twisted silver, backings extended into 4 flanges, saw-cut and stamped freehand. All 5 hang from spare, elegant bails, each stamped with a stylized Zia-like motif, a heart at its center.

Flanking him are two giant, highly domed ovals of natural Fox turquoise from Nevada, electric sky blue marbled with red siltstone matrix and stippled with ivory host rock. They, too, are set into scalloped bezels edges with twisted silver, the scalloped extended backing saw-cut and stamped freehand.

Here, his great had is cut of royal lapis lazuli in richest cobalt blue, set into a bezel saw-cut, scalloped, and stamped by hand to create his curly mane, the stone edged with twisted silver.

At the center of the 5 pendants is a focal in what's known as a shield cut — but we couldn't see anything other than our Elder Brother, Buffalo. [Don't yap at me about "bison" v. "buffalo"; both English terms and "definitions" are entirely colonial, and we use what our ancestors used.]

Pendants are sterling silver; royal lapis lazuli; and natural Fox turquoise. Beads are high-grade old lapis lazuli in chrysocolla; ultra-high-grade royal lapis lazuli; high-grade blue turquoise (likely Persian); iron pyrite; and sterling silver.

This is such beautiful work. I have a couple of pieces, and they reveal themselves overtime. if you and your budget can accommodate a purchase, go for it. This is not consumption; this is solidarity, witness, and celebration.

Ugh. My chest hurts. I was doing evening chores outside, and I didn't realize that Wings had sprayed bug spray, and I casually waltzed back into the studio . . . and my airway promptly closed up shop. It hasn't recovered yet.

These are large round cabs set simply into plain bezels, edged with twisted silver on an extended backing. The oxidation makes the stormy blues pop, and they're my personal favorite.

This is one of Wings's old traditional designs, one that evokes the Eye of Spirit in a radiant Art Deco style. They're saw-cut, upper and lower flared ends scalloped, and the deep scored rays and stampwork all wrought freehand.

The third image is of deep indigo mammatus clouds, and this was shot near day's end: also unusual, albeit more common now, their gentle arcs deepening into thunderclouds, the kind that can and do spiral into a vortex.

The second is also shot from our deck, but later in the morning: of cumulus clouds, ruffled and shirred, the kind that can dissipate into clear skies or coalesce into a powerful storm. [No, you have to go to the post to see them; I don't post his here.]

The first photo looks more like early October here. He took this at dawn, having just stepped outside onto our deck, facing east to the sunrise. It looks like fall, but our usual patterns no longer apply; we've had such fiery sunrises all spring and even into summer this year.

This week's edition consists of three related photos linked by two works of wearable art. The photos all share a theme, illustrating the shifting of the summer skies here, but all were shot entirely independently of each other.
