My partner’s working w/son #2, teaching him the skills to put this together. He’s loving it, buying his own tools as needs arise. Partner has Essential Tremor-causes so much shaking-hands can’t hold tools anymore. It’s a lot to come to terms with for him.

Painting outside done. The guys are rebuilding the back stairs so I got a first coat on the new wood. It’s 90f so that’s all the outside work for today. Cool shower, cool drink and a fan.

It’s raspberry season. I have a love hate relationship w/the raspberry plants in my garden. Truthfully, they are borderline invasive for a small city garden, but I can’t bring myself to remove them completely. A ruthless hand is needed to keep them in check.

I learned to sew when I was young so I appreciate the craftsmanship of well made clothing. To give a shout out to @llbean, just bought a pair of cargo shorts from them. Good cut, proportion and Hong Kong seaming! Amazing!

People can complain about whether or not Bluesky has "the juice," and I will tell you that it does, mostly because I see more independent reporting and journalism here than anywhere else. A story like this would be buried everywhere else online—and it deserves our attention.

Disposable fashion. I have clothes that are older than I am (68), inherited from an aunt. Well made, classically cut clothing can be a joy to wear and last more than 1 lifetime.
