That’s nice. I’m also talking football with a couple of colleagues in our WhatsApp group. Meanwhile, our teenager is unable to watch from Poland because storms have knocked our the satellite feed.

I’m sorry. That’s very tough. I lost a good friend of 15+ years when she went v anti-vax conspiracy theory. I still miss her and worry about her but I couldn’t keep the friendship after she got into the anti Soros, great reset stuff.

My ID card (in Belgium) is partly linked to healthcare. The GP can upload my prescriptions and the pharmacist can see them when I hand her my ID. It’s super handy.

We were at a guingette in the park on Sunday: Our friend’s dog was most indignant that human are allowed to drop chips on the floor without a second thought but dogs are apparently not allowed to gobble them up.

Oh what a shame. My kids went to language camp a couple of times at Esch Sur Sure. They enjoyed kayaking but perhaps I shouldn’t think too much about the water quality then!

The book I’m currently reading is fantastic but oh my word, I’ve cried a lot. Not bad for basically a random pick in a bookshop. Can only apologise to the cat and my housemates for any alarm I may have caused.

When I was working in the Civil Service in the late 90s, senior staff had their secretaries print out all their emails for them to read. Also, we had to submit a business case for getting internet access.

Being able to buy feels like affluence but if you own a house outright but have a low income (eg basic state pension and no savings) it doesn’t feel v affluent. Or if you can’t afford groceries after paying mortgage and bills. Sure, you can sell the house but you still need to live somewhere.
