That’s kinda the point though right. It’s almost always a close call. How often do bike and ped accidents happen? Also those are WAY less serious. There’s a concept (can’t find it right now) where our brains can only process enough info to drive at slow speeds. Exceed that and we fill in gaps.

Moral Hazard. We build these literal death traps to feel safe. Safe for only the people inside. The quieter we make them and the “safer” we make them at insane speeds contributes to the driver feeling invincible. The safe design of cars, trucks, and SUVs makes them unsafe. I hate it

She was and it is in CA. Driving is already so convenient. Why make it dangerous as well. I’m pretty sure it was an iPhone which makes it worse. Those things detect you are driving any you have to override it. She chose to be dangerous.

They have a popular flavors called “three chocolate”. It’s just two kinds of chocolate and then some white chocolate which we can all agree is bs. It’s pretty good though

There are two now in my neighborhood. One is matte black. I hate it. I get your point though about lithium fires. Most of these are really safe now. Lots of places clamping down in dangerous batteries. I don’t charge at night and I try to charge mostly at work. That way if the office burns down.

They make holders and things as well. I have one in a tire on one bike. It’s wrapped in electronic tape and stick inside a bit of foam that is supposed to give you Corning rigidity for low pressure tires.

Not usually. Metal blocks the signal. I have a few places. Inside the carbon frame of some bikes. I just duck tape it in place. I also wrap a pair of zip ties in electrical tape around the AirTag. Then I zip it under my seat on top of my seatpost clamp. Practically invisible.

That’s good life advice. Still my point is that jaywalking is a crime because some 🚗 🧠 didn’t want actual people in “their roads” I tapped on a lady’s window today as I was riding next to her. She was on her phone in a neighborhood. She was surprised to see me to say the least.
