grain of salt I am very biased against debates in general and have very mean things to say to both of these men, but both of them did a very bad job. I feel like the focus was especially amplified on Biden because they knew Democrats would actually react to the criticism in a clickable way

(not a lawyer but this was how a lawyer explained it to me as a faculty member): the minute the university calls police on the students, they're ceding authority to the police's report and their interpretation of the events. The assumption being it must be trespassing if they brought in cops.

yesterday on the plane to indiana, i sat in front of a man who is going to use the totality to confess his re-emerged love to his still married ex-girlfriend. He was telling everyone on the plane who would listen! It was clear that he wanted to be talked out of it & everyone was like yes, king, go!
