Just sharing this because I have determined that Darth Maul is the hardest character to draw from anything because the facial tattoos are basically expression camouflage. God damn.

Diary check. I am once again playing with stickers. My boxes and folders of stuff I cut out of magazines are getting too full so I need to use them more.

This was the initial Walda sketch I made after I first had the dream a while back. I forgot the cute companion surgery robot had bloody hands in this one.

Was going to make this into a sticker but I lost the painting when I moved! This was based on an actual leaf I found on the ground. You can see I was using the rest of the paper to test colors for other stuff.

In Burns, OR, I recently stayed at a house where about a dozen California Quail (Callipepla californica) would swing by the house every day to check the yard for morsels fallen from a hanging birdfeeder. Took a shot at drawing a male in ink. #birds

(cont'd) “Do I know you?” he said, his voice even more mellifluous. “I do, don’t I?” (Here's the version that's just Christopher Carrion)

I drew a spooky scene from Abarat Chapter 16: The Universal Eye by Clive Barker “Now what is this?” he said, so, so softly. He narrowed his eyes, taking off his glove and putting his naked hand on one of the screens as if wishing he could reach into it and seize hold of the girl herself.

You're very lucky, you know. Angels almost never take human spouses. No one in living memory has attended a wedding such as this. Don't get cold feet now.

For decades after that horrible wedding, the occultists, esotericists, and other wizards present would say that the groom had been so very polite, that it had even attempted to impersonate a human for the sake of its bride

Self indulgent stuff based on things I made up as a kid. I have a lot of fun when I can just say it's fine to break every rule of composition and design and go on vibes only

Old art based on a dream I had long ago about people who are wardens of a castle full of monsters.

I have slowly been working on this picture of someone who lives or sleeps in a barn loft realizing there's been a vampire incursion. I own a few amateur handmade quilts and have been thinking of them as I come up with this one.

Eventually I wanna do a big art in top down perspective based on a dream I had in high school about the groundskeepers of an antient castle belonging to a bedridden vampire. I don't know if my notes can make sense to others.

Rediscovered an old drawing of Roland with Chazz and Mef, just a redraw of a True Detective screenshot. Mef is sitting on Chazz' lap, it was the only way to get all three of them in the shot from TD.

This is the monster/one of the main characters from the big writing project I worked on as a kid. I redrew this guy for the first time in ages a few years ago, I'll always have a soft spot for middle school me's ideas.

Closeup of a doodle. One little conceit in Roland's design is that he has gums and teeth when I feel like it. It's best explained by his relationship to fucked up magic (he is both witch and witch doctor), but just as easily explained by the fact that toons can do just about anything when it's funny

I turned a scrap piece of badly-faded block-printed fabric into a patch for my pants by stitching over where I thought maybe the pattern used to be. From a distance it seems fairly coherent, but up close you can see the chaos.

This summer I finished my first ever knitting project (as opposed to little practice swatches). It's a scarf for my mom with a bunch of birds on it made out of merino wool. At least it's getting cold enough now for my mom to finally wear it!

The reason so many people have a hard time picking a fursona species is that they are failing to consider that they could be the anthro version of a terrifying predatory marine worm such as the bobbit worm. #furryart

I do feel insane knitting such tiny stitches but it keeps me busy when I feel crazed and my scarf-wearing friends in cold places will benefit in the long run. I learned to knit this year and I see now why knitters are always dressing their loved ones.

Sketch from a nightmare. Normally I do these on paper w/ ballpoint pen in my journal or notepad in 20 seconds but it's kinda fun to do them in color on the computer sometimes.

The goblins of the deep sea were welcomed above when they first left the water. People mistook them for strange, slimy birds and did not realize just how keenly their snouts could sense life that hid from them.

No, I've mainly been goofing around. I started with top-down oblique projections (something I understand intuitively but wanted to make sure I understood mathematically from first principles) and then have just started moving into pixels/tilesets because it was a way to simplify what I was doing.
