This is a past-ten-years phenomenon at this point; not a this year thing. In 2021 I ended a nine year working relationship with an otherwise brilliant lawyer because the brainrot that Gateway Pundit articles had inflicted was spilling over from our lunch chats into the quality of their work.

Oh I know how to draft it. I have absolutely no faith that no matter how clear and explicit the drafting there aren't a handful of American judges that will ignore it in furtherance of American exceptionalism or something if the whim takes them on the day it comes before them.

If I were writing a choice of law and choice of forum clause I would not choose the USA. But then again the USA would pretend the clause meant the opposite of what it said if a FedSoc weirdo was interested in the case so I’m not sure what to do there. Don’t do business in America?

I am actively repulsed by the idea of fucking someone I have that kind of ascendancy over. Like, I not only don’t want to but I want very much not to. I have doubts that I even could. I’ve been surprised to learn over the past few years that’s apparently not normal.

Responsibility for prosecutions rests with the Attorney General ultimately and the solicitor general heads up the crown law office. At an indictable level the prosecutors aren’t “cops” in the colloquial way a lot of DAs are. But also, Australia is not Aotearoa.

Aotearoa has a police prosecution service. Police are directly responsible for prosecuting the bulk of crimes (lower level offending). Those prosecutors may not be legally trained but are police officers. The crown law office handles indictable offences but outsources the work to private firms.

If there was one I’d come up with a real good argument for why it’s not one. Would cost over $100k to prove me wrong. You’d have to find a bunch of other documents to contextually demonstrate that it is a magic secret bullet. Maybe through a process like discovery and trial.

I guess maybe it’s hard to know the difference between a drawing and a colouring book if all you’ve ever seen is the finished product but drawing the lines is 90% of the work and the contribution the LLM makes to the other 10% is on par with using random colours and the bucket tool in MS Paint.
