Fwiw later games they've done in this art style look a lot better. There's a lot less "let's fiddle with these graphic sliders because we don't know what they do" going on. They actually have colors besides brown. Wouldn't be surprised if they continued to use the stock fire vfx though.

I preheated a pan for dinner and went to work some more on my current draft, got too wrapped up in finishing the paragraph, then came back to the pan to discover I'd turn the burner on too high and filled the kitchen with smoke. Does this make me a real writer finally.

I end each session by upgrading any equipment that has the biggest green number on it. I will not keep making the number go up after I'm done with the story. I doubt I will have a problem with these systems.

Also the way everybody treats the Batkids like a bunch of nobodies and calls them generic names like "vigilantes" and "capes" makes me feel like they made a superhero game and then slapped the Batman license onto it later. The criminals know who the Bat Family is! They're scared of them too!

Then I did the first Mister Freeze mission and if this game is going to make a habit of concluding its major story missions with waves of enemies that continue for 10+ minutes at a time then I'm going to turn on it hard. That was so tedious and boring.

Started Gotham Knights this week and my first impression was that while it's clearly inferior to the Arkham games, I got what they were going for and could see myself enjoying it as a slow burn, play for an hour a day type of game.
