This has been sitting on my desk gathering dust for ages. Finally hooked a serial cable up to it and plugged everything in, fixed the aperture motor that was causing some issues and started taking some pics. An Olympus MX80 metallurgical microscope. Now just to make a controller for the XY stage.🔬

Das war letzte Woche für mich. Hab gesagt zu Kunden wir warten mit der Besuch, nicht das der kalibrierzeugs in Zoll hängt. Aber er war zuversichtlich und wollte es riskieren. Fazit: zwei täge sitzen im reinraum warten auf die dumme kalibrierzeugs das in Zoll hängt. 🙄

Stellwerkausfall meant the schienenersatzverkehr was the 🚌 from my 🅿️. After the third fully loaded 🚌 that I couldnt fit on, I had to park in the much more expensive 🅿️ on the airport itself. 😑. Nearly missed my flight. I will have an open discussion on Friday with the 🅿️ people as to who pays.

Finally got started on moving the new laser in to the old laser enclosure. Removed the JenLas source and galvo and placed the China galvo and head unit. Now just need to make plates to hold cameras and decide what to do about upgrading to a more modern OS and maintain control of the motion system.

Some test decapsulating ICs with a fiber laser. I had a request from a colleague asking how little plastic mold compound I could remove in a single pass. Looks like about 10μ.

The hotel has a robot. It only shows up with the Wirt. He spends a minute programming it, it drives to the center of the room. He then clears all the tables, the robot doesn’t follow him. I think this is one of the dumber things that technology has given us.

Ich und ein Kollege haben letztes Monat in Grenoble ein Anlage umgezogen und das Automatisierung alles neu eingestellt hat zirka zwei Wochen gedauert. Am Ende meldet der Kunde das die ein Fehler gemacht haben in die Planung, muss es nochmal umziehen. 😑. Wird bezahlt aber irgendwie frustrierend.

Buddy wanted a light for his bbq, but didn’t want to run a cable to the grill. Using a cheap rechargeable flashlight, dressed the ends of an aluminum pipe, added insets on both sides and pressed a ring in the front and made a 3d printed part for the rear to house the USB board for charging.

Made some T-Slot nuts with M10 instead of M12 to hold a new to me vise down on the Maho mill. Tried out cold bluing for the first time as well. Came out nicely black. This should give them some corrosion resistance.
