You haven’t seen the squirrels here. I had a coyote in the back garden the other day as well

Our paper on "The impact of phage and phage resistance on microbial community dynamics" is finally out in PLOS Biology! What a journey it's been to get here, and I couldn't have done it without my fab co-authors journals.plos.org/plosbiology/...

Our fantastic 4th-year MBio student Kat had an excellent reception to her poster at #Microbio24 yesterday. She is exploring differences in P. aeruginosa physiology in media that mimic different respiratory infection contexts, and between isolates from different infections. #MicroSky

If you need a better reason why you should publish in society journals then I am stumped. Publishing with MicroSoc journals funds studentships like these and amazing opportunities for emerging talent

I’m trying to stay optimistic. AI seems to have huge potential in a positive way, but also the potential for some things to go South very quickly as well.

Yep it could be. What a miserable world where we have to question everything we read and now see.

Are we all sure this wasn’t deliberate by Frontiers to get publicity? Any publicity is good publicity. Just look at Donald J Trump. Any publicity works just fine for him.

This would not have gotten accepted in a society journal…. Obviously. Shame on Frontiers. It’s all seemingly about the cash. Concerning that Germany has done a deal with Frontiers so all researchers in Germany can publish for free. Feels like a losing battle for societies. Don’t give up the fight!
