Amazing Humpback #whale sightings from Point Reyes yesterday! While zooming in on a flock of Caspian Terns, a whale breached much further out. These first 2 photos are 3 of them, but I saw at least 4 more. Apparently there were 101 just counted at the Farallones! 💙 #Ocean #iNat #OriginalContent 🌿📷🐋

When we lived in the country many years ago, we had a bobcat den nearby. One day when we were pulling up on our long gravel drive, we saw a kitten sunning in front of us. I turned off the car and we waited for them to finish up and leave. So cute! 😻

I started logging observations in nature with an iNaturalist.org account in 2012. I just hit 15k observations, so have been learning tons there over the past 12 years. So, while I know some stuff, I have been very dependent on iNat for learning IDs of flora/fauna/fungi, and still do! 💚 Thanks much!

I first trained at Fairfield Osborn Preserve in 2000 (then taught for 24 seasons), then at Bouverie Preserve in 2020, where I also fulfilled requirements to become a certified California Naturalist.
