It's beyond concerning. It's alarming & scary how easily the general public will accept lies as fact. Every day I see stories in the news cycle that are either completely or partially false.

And the people who have been ringing the alarm bell for quite some time--journalists, historians, activists, politicians, public officials--are often vilified by the the very same people they are trying to warn us about. None of this is new either.
