I had a client at FWA remind me they hadn't been invoiced yet. Like, they'd been getting WIPs and the art was almost done, and instead of just waiting and running away with it, they were cool about going "Hey, so, let me give you your money???"

I have sued 3 out of my last 4 employers for failing to pay me. Regular-ass 9-5, W-2 jobs with traditional employment models. Two were blue chip companies. It's about to be 4 out of 5.
