Saw Psycho for the first time in 1978, my dorm screened it for Halloween, I only knew it was a horror film. It was creepy, scary, cringey, and there were loud gasps. Alien came out the following June. Those two films bookended my freshman year at NYU, and perfectly describe it. π³ π±π

An editor of a US newspaper cannot be impartial about democracy in America, because without American democracy and our Bill of Rights, there wouldnβt be a free press, and his job as an editor would be radically changed, if not eliminated altogether.

Another thing about the RNC 1980 convention is how they successfully co-opted words like freedom, family, and pro-life, and demonized the term liberal.

The Republican Party is corrupted.
Our electoral system is based on two dominant political parties. But what do you do when one of them has become corrupted, and has corrupted two of the three branches of the federal government, the Republican members in Congress and members of the Supreme Court?

So, The New York Times publishes a story with a misleading headline, implying the expert was there checking on Joeβs health.
In paragraph 3, they point out they donβt know shit, but *nowhere* do they mention the National Plan to End Parkinsonβs Act that Joe just signed into law.

Today The New York Times account on Threads was briefly deactivated and they donβt know why.
Clearly this shows that The New York Times on Threads is in cognitive decline and simply *must* drop off the platform.

My morning starts with doing the word games, in bed; I figure itβs extra challenging since Iβm just waking up.
I start with the Bee, do as much as I can, then the others, then get up & get coffee and go back to the Bee to get to Genius. Beyond that, I may go back to it during the rest of the day.

Personally I think the candidates should be challenged to play word games, like the NYT Mini, Wordle, Strands, and Connections, plus Quordle, Octordle, and Hardle.
They should do it Live, on the debate stage, with two cameras on each, one on their face and one on their game screen.

The media publishes stories that influences opinion polls, then reports on the polls that their own stories influenced, all for clicks, likes, follows, and subscribers, which creates viewership ratings that lead to advertising dollars.
And they engage with rage.

If itβs the bad, you can use the gin as an all-purpose cleaner, an aftershave, or an air freshener. Some say it can also be used as a floor wax and a dessert topping, but I havenβt verified that.

Todayβs SCOTUS ruling now completes the imperial presidency that Richard Nixon believed it to be, and was trying to make, codifying into law (for now) what Nixon said to David Frost in 1977, βwhen the president does it, that means that it is not illegal"
