Willie Jefferson has a better game. The rest of the d line got penetration which allowed him to do more than containment and block passing lanes which isn't highlight reel. It was a good night for the D Line. Not as good as we've grown to expect from big nights, but at this lower bar, passes.

Sergio Castillo is kicking great right now. Week 1 might wreck his stats for the year but I'd love to see Derek Taylor's points above expected metric on him (especially excluding it). Defensive line looked much better. Clercius looked good, except for the penalty. Oliveira was OK.

Interesting game from Winnipeg.

Streveler has shown improvement on his passing, but he did keep running like we'd expect him to.
Whereas his arm was JUST good enough that you couldn't discount his passing and stop the run, he's throwing better. Not an elite passer, but not particularly weak.

Yeah, David being missing is weird. I'd guess it's medical or injury. Lucky has a high price tag and he's getting older as a "speed guy" so I can get that one more. Winnipeg's situation fits him best but it's desperation.

That's tough for Brown. Quarterbacks need to slide earlier. You're giving up yards to avoid contact. The defense needs to be able to lay off. Kramdi was a bit late and for sure got him in the head which is the penalty. Hitting a QB in the head is automatic, not intent. Fine likely incoming.

Demski and Oliveira (not a receiver but catches alot) also playing hurt. Wheatfall was put in to fill in for Lawler and he got hurt and sat out the rest of the last game. They had to play their #2 QB as a receiver because they ran out of guys last game. They are very stretched thin at receiver.

It's a shame. The problem in Edmonton wasn't that the team was publicly owned, the problem was that they sucked consistently year after year. I can see why they think this should help, but it seems more like a predisposition to conservative politics than a well managed and competitive franchise.
