We, as scientists, must communicate better with the general public. I applaud your idea of adjusting the curriculum. All scientists need to have communication training. In real estate it is “Location, location, location.” In the field of meteorology - “Communicate, communicate, communicate.”

Agree! Reminds me of tv consultants wanting just a local focus (ignoring that weather systems from thousands of miles away can bring our weather), and be mainly local forecast focused without the meteorological underpinning!
