I don't care if you're in your 20s or 30s and the picture of health. Do not leave undue burdens to your children or friends or strangers - get your shit in order now. You can always make changes later if you change your mind about your wishes or have different life circumstances.

Get a will, get an advanced directive, and talk to your families (seriously!!! don't blow it off with jokes!) about what you want. sent from the hospital amid a lot of exhaustion, as the kid of an adult who treated this all like a joke for way too long.
