I think it’s the idea that anything the Democrats do is impinging upon their rights bc taxes and misuse of funds. Bc spending their “hard earned money” on the undeserving is a crime. (nb : I grew up in a v white poor county - I doubt anyone is thinking of race when class is right there)

Tough when it is more amphorous like this but the infrastructure bill is spending billions in every state with many very real world improvements that even people who voted against them try to take credit for.
