oh yeah, it's great. i just sort of go in phases of using it. when i was using it more often, i tended to start a picture in clip studio and finish it in rebelle. but here's some purely rebelle paintings and drawings i did in 2022

Also honestly, the crayola oil pastels are cheap and very fun to use. They have a very soft consistency and the colors are very loud. Lastly, don’t be afraid to go in hard and make a mess. A lot of inspiration and courage I get is from the painter Kouta Sasai,

The mungyos are kind of comparable to the neopastels. The pentels are very cheap but work pretty great, 8ish dollars for a 50 color set. Another thing to keep in mind with oil pastels is if they are AP certified. Some of the nicer pastels use toxic pigments.

but they are very expensive. I think it’s good to have a few different kinds of oil pastels. I usually start a picture with harder/cheaper oil pastels and then add the nicer ones on top. pretty good pastel sets: mungyo artist soft oil pastels, Sakura cray pas expressionist, pentel oil pastels—

well for oil pastel a little. Oil pastels work on tons of material: multimedia paper, cold press watercolor paper, canvas, wood, you name it. Generally you want a heavier weight and more textured paper, especially if you want to build layers. My favorite oil pastels are caran d’ache neopastels—
