I am in South Africa conducting water quality field work with funding from #NatGeo in collaboration with #WitsUniv and #CofC. Water levels this year have dropped by 50% from last year due to lack of rain. But we’ve not seen any HABs yet. @ksuearthsci.bsky.social 🧪

Umm am I looking at a flood ready house that is now in a drought? Is this the poster child for climate adaptation? As in, how terrible that we must adapt to such a horrendous range of opposite impacts.
