If I'm paying for it, 72 is the lowest I will go. When I'm in a hotel or something I will gleefully turn it WAY down into the 60s! I do also keep things pretty cold in the winter, so my winter heating bills are actually pretty moderate.

(While that is admittedly slow, I fear we may need that long to figure out exactly what we are doing about potentially adding these to a physical book without totally messing up the pagination....)

I'm actually not sure. The TITLE says first reading, but the title isn't binding, and the text says "That the 81st General Convention authorize for trial use under Article X.b ", so....I'm not certain, but it seems to me that first reading would be 2027 and second reading 2030....

So under the provisions of the new Article X, the authorization of any liturgy requires a vote by orders (which is new). I’m not entirely convinced that receiving a prayer is the same as authorizing a liturgy, but I guess a case could be made. But other committee 10 stuff is not a vote by orders.

(Given how hard it is to write eloquent prose as a committee, I almost think we'd be better off spending $30,000 to just commission someone to do it, and to then give it to a wider and more diverse group like the SCLM to critique and improve rather than writing it by 9-person committee...) #gc81

...so it's actually a bit frustrating to hear "cool....cool. We're thinking 9 people and $30,000 for the first triennium, maybe more next triennium!" as if money and interim bodies grow on trees...

Re: A127, the only procedurally sensible thing to do on the last day of convention is concur with bishops. But we had a careful conversation on the SCLM and determined that we could do this work with 3 people and no budget (meeting only electronically)... #gc81

That doesn’t seem right, because we approve a lot of liturgy resolutions without a vote by orders?

Episcopalians! There is a Yemeni coffee place (Haraz) just a short walk from the convention center, and this is arguably the best thing that has happened to me in a year. If you have never had Yemeni coffee or pastries, I strongly endorse both (more strongly than any resolution!) #gc81

The Syriac text I'm translating just made me laugh unexpectedly when it was going on and on at very boring length about cosmology, and abruptly concluded the section by saying that Plato sat for days by the water trying to understand the tides, but all in vain because he caught a chill and died.
