20 years ago today (!!) I sent out this email announcing my first-ever show on #WFMU, which took place in the wee hours of the morning on July 5, 2004.

Tomorrow I’ll celebrate by starting with a selection of songs that I played on that very first show. I hope you can tune in at noon EDT!

I went to The Museum Of The Dog today, which is a real thing in Manhattan, and they have a kiosk that takes your picture and finds your dog match and I’m not mad at the results.

a) watches most of their baseball via the MLB.tv app/service,

and

b) is surprisingly incensed over the fact that the cruise line whose ads appear between EVERY SINGLE HALF INNING suddenly changed *just the music track* of their ad from “Bittersweet Symphony” to some Moby track?

It was suggested to me earlier today that one way to improve my Bluesky experience is to post photos of #cats. Can’t hurt!
1. Dusty, 16 years old and somehow survived some sort of illness earlier this year that really had me thinking he was a goner.
2. Benny, ~13 yo, 90% sweetheart, 10% PITA.

My impression is that a lot of the people I know from Twitter and/or irl have landed there just kind of by default, based on some anecdotal comments and the little snippets of posts that they feed me on Instagram.

All that said, I admittedly have not been making much of an effort myself, as my posts here have been pretty much limited to once-weekly posts to plug my show, which I know is not the way to build/stay engaged.

I'm honestly not sure at this point how much of this is me just not being as interested in interacting with these types of social media anymore, vs. who is on these platforms right now. (see also chicken / egg) But there are definitely times I miss what felt like more of a community on the T site.
