I... I let them know my feelings in my comments to the editor (that they may not read if my numbers aren't high enough!). What a big middle finger to reviewers. We already have an ordinal scale of reject, accept, and R&R, now I feel like I have to game the system just to get them to read my review.

yes! there is already a scale and there are these big text boxes with rich qualitative data. editors should use those things!
