My local for-profit power co. recently went to hourly rates. Price for power rising and falling based on time of day. Their suggestion for saving $$ on A/C during peak times, set thermostat to colder temps before 6pm, turn it off until after 10pm. Sure, let's sweat just sitting during family time.

There are hundreds of self-published novels and books distributed by independent publishers that Hollywood could make into movies for the cost of getting the rights to one IP for a remake. Even if they aren't all hits, the chances are enough that the studio would still make money on the bundle.

It would be nice to work a shift closer to real world hours and be able to spend time with my family while they are conscious. The increase in pay is minimal. It would be a matter of trading one group of lousy coworkers with another group of lousy coworkers. I'm masochistic enough to do it.

Notified of something today that puts me in a conundrum. An opening at the corporate office of the company I currently work for. An additional $1/hr min. increase and shorter daily commute. Maybe no more evening shifts. Downside, I would be much closer to the bosses that keep pissing me off.
