What was most surprising to me about these game designs was that roll-and-move was their default starting point, even though I have never seen these kids play a roll-and-move game -- and have seen them play many other types of games. It's like it's hard-wired somehow.

10. Across multiple presentations and conversations it is really hitting me how pervasive AI is going to be in toys and entertainment in a few years. Everyone is just waving their hands at the massive electricity use (and plagiarism). The robot uprising may win just by cooking the planet.

๐ฒโ๏ธWe just had our first @ttgda.bsky.social educational webinar with Trevor Muller-Hegel (CPA) talking about book keeping, accounting, and taxes - I know it sounds boring, but it's part of leveling up from a hobbyist to a pro in the tabletop game design field! What would you want to see next?

I saw your game! I'm feeling vastly outnumbered by video games. 75% of the session titles feel totally uninteresting to me. But the ones I've gone to have all had something to them.

5. I sat down and played this in the G4C arcade and WOW. It's an immersive animated movie tackling a taboo subject. A little light on gameplay but an impactful experience nonetheless. I had only spent a few minutes with a VR headset before, and this made me want more.

I also heard about Free Rice which I think is similar- they started out ad funded but now have private donors. Which makes me think it's not really generating new funding - surely these donors are not only willing to give if people play the game.

Walk this morning then lunch at a restaurant that I rarely go to. Remembered only after getting there that this is where my now-spouse accidentally proposed 20+ yrs ago by saying "so after we get married..." It was sure to happen, we just hadn't fully said it yet. Never needed more of a proposal.

I haven't looked that closely at this game but at first glance it doesn't bother me, which might surprise people. Some factors:
A) designer is a dancer
B) most minis are in power poses, not weird contorted t&a bullshit
C) lack of clothing is appropriate to the scenario

Ive had (b) happen in my forums, if it makes you feel any better about the chances that it was personal. That said, your hyper vigilance is not wrong - my first read was that it was personal.
Now it is in an unknowable black box. Schroedinger's transphobia.

This is presumably on a page with your (very feminine) name in it so this is either
a) someone who's been following you enough to know your backstory and is choosing to misgender you
Or
b) someone who assumes all designers are male?
Impossible to tell, both suck, neither way is it funny.

The series Lupin on Netflix is SO GOOD. Generally one heist per episode, often told by actually showing the heist first -- but in a way where things are not what they seem, so then the episode unfolds what really happened.

Board game idea: ๐ฒโ๏ธ
A co-op where the mechanics involve getting into sync. What would that be? Might need to look up theories about why these particular fireflies do this. It's supposed to be an amazing sight to behold.
