I think it's significant, though, that both of those fetishes are, in fact, widely viewed as repulsive. Like, even if it's not what the fetishization is about, it still seems to be a requirement.

The object of the fetish vs. the fetish itself being viewed as repulsive are rather different I think, and you were making a claim about the object of fetish. And there are still those fetishes for innocuous things like satin or lace, or body part fetishes for like ears or knees or what have you.
